jetboat trips for the spring

Saturday, December 15th, 2012

Capt. Charles is wrapping up his 30 day fishing and surfing adventure in Panama. The 2012 season was amazing in both Montana and Wyoming. The Bighorn River produced some great fish and amazing days for our anglers. We are looking forward to the upcoming 2013 season with great anticipation. Spring is right around the corner for us here in Thermopolis, Wyoming. We usually get cranking around the last week of feb or beginning of March if the weather permits. This early fishing is some of the best we have. Steve Beaz is ready and pumped for another season as well. Remember we offer Jetboat trips in both Montana and Wyoming which is truly a fun and enjoyable way to fish our fisheries. Let us know about your 2013 trip!

winter flies

Weather has warmed up here in Central Wyoming. Calling for a high of 41 today in Thermopolis. All week looks perfect for fishing on the Wedding of the Waters! Get out after them. We certainly will be out. Standard tailwater bugs under the bobber will produce. Keep an eye out for risers and have midges and baetis on hand. Get out and enjoy this warm spell!

it has been awhile

Wednesday, January 19th, 2011

it is the off season and we will be the first to admit we are slacking with both the fishing report and updates. however winter fishing is predictable… wait for a warmer day and go fish below a dam! simple as that. what to use? well give you this simple advice..anything PINK! the secrets out. we learned the effectiveness of pink while fishing the Missouri River and it is a deadly color on tailwaters across the country…. the past three days the weather was perfect and the fish were willing. give us a call for your spring trip… 307.438.0740

another happy client on the pond

It has been a busy week on the ranch. the parents are in town. hoppers are flying. clients are coming in steady even though the fishing is so so below the dam. the canyon is fishing extremely well on hoppers and chubbys. the wedding of the waters is also a good bet. just keep the fly on the surface and close to the russian olives and you will hook up! enjoy what is left of summer. kids are back in school and the rivers are quite again. give us a call 307.438.0740

richard’s big wind river rainbow

got out yesterday with richard and steve b of 4 rivers guide service based out of riverton, wyo and ran the jet for the day. threw streamers and nymphs in the am and we were rewarded. we struggled landing most of the big fish due to the weeds. we tried to fish the hopper with a small trailer and got zero interest for 3 drifts. we went back to chasing the bobber until it got too hot.  weeds got worse in the afternoon. saw the wrwc boys hooked up below the dam for most of the am. we didn’t get down into the  canyon, but fishing reports have been hot! streamers in the am and terrestrials after 11. going out again tomorrow below the dam for a trip and will report back…..

24 inch wyoming brown from today. blackberry photo

got out today to fish for myself. woke up and  it was windy. go figure. fishing was slow in the am until the clouds rolled in and the grey drakes started to pop. pmd’s were also present. i hunted heads for the morning and managed to get into some decent fish. when the clouds broke around 11 the fish were keyed into golden stones and hoppers. i got most of my fish on the hopper with a few coming on the chubby. lost the big fish today after an amazing fight. i just couldn’t get  hopper season is here. give us a call for your trip 307.438.0740.

wildflowers and brown trout

Sunday, June 20th, 2010

we still have clear fishable water on some of our local tail-waters. I was able to get out today and fish for myself and check out some different water around central wyoming. streamer fishing was outstanding when the cloud cover was present. a thunderstorm rolled in and the i caught three of the biggest fish during that storm. the biggest was 24 plus and also caused me to dunk my Nikon DSLR into the river. so after 3 plus years my camera finally took its last photo of the first brown of the day. the fish was a tank.

it is going to be a great summer with all of the water we have this year. hopper season will be here soon and i had one big brown come up and take a Wilcox’s VW Hopper. I blew the hook-set not expecting to see a fish eat such a big dry this early. life is good. be sure to get out and enjoy this weather. call us to book your hopper trip.
