wyoming hopper fishing

Warm weather is upon us and here to stay. More and more fish are keying into the terrestrials which we love, because we can put the bobbers away! Trico spinner fall in the am and switch to the big foam stuff and stick to it. Don’t be afraid to drop a smaller ant or beetle off the back. Even a black foam cricket…. SHHHHH

we are back!!!!

Sorry for the lack of fishing reports and updates. Its been a busy winter surfing and fishing around Panama. I am now back to the States gearing up for what looks to be a great spring and summer in both Wyoming and Montana. Fishing was insane in Panama and very affordable. Lots of roosterfish, cubera snapper, bluefin trevally, and tuna to chase! It was an experience of a lifetime and I recommend everyone checkout the sportfishing opportunities that Panama has to offer!

Ill be back on the water in the Wyoming and Montana in a week or so. Not looking forward to the cold, but I am looking forward to fishing with old and new clients. Guide Steve Beaz will be busy on the oars this season and so will I.

Thermopolis Fly Fishing Guide Service: COLD TROUT IN CT

cold, cold cold

cold day chasing wild browns in CT

I had the pleasure of giving a speech at the Trout Unlimited Mianus Chapter last night and I wanted to thank the members and all those involved. It was a great event full of fly-tying and fish tales. It’s amazing how many fly fishermen regardless of the geographic location LOVE this sport. At times I think we really get spoiled living and working out west where the fish are big and wild. We truly are spoiled and remember there are lots of people who would kill to be in our shoes just for a day! Life is good! Give us a call about our spring special. 307.438.0740

big browns in upstate new york

Big brown trout from Upstate New York!

It’s almost time for our annual steelhead outing in upstate New York with the boy from the Great Lake Steelhead Company. Cold weather, good friends, whiskey, and most importantly lake-run chromers. Our buddy Elrod will not be joining us for the first time in 5 years due to a poorly timed wedding….oh well he landed quite the catch. You will be with us in spirit. Looking forward to it but not the cold… We will deal it. Happy Holidays!

Give us a call for spring and summer bookings.

Bighorn River, Wyoming Fly Fishing: Stoke

Tim H. stoke

Fishing Report:

Weather is mild and fishing remains excellent. Fish are holding in the slower deeper water.

NYMPHS: have produced best with your standard tailwater bugs producing. Scuds, midges, eggs, crayfish, did I mention midges….

STREAMERS: slow retrieves have been producing well. If your into the two-hander game…. swinging em up has been producing if your patient…. small and olive….hint hint.

DRY FLY: midge clusters for the risers. we love the buzzball tied in darker colors for this kind of fishing. The old standard Griffith Gnat is deadly as well.

Give us a call now for our winter/spring special! 307.438.0740
