blueberry dreams and worms…

Sunday, January 17th, 2010

tied up a bunch of wine worms, it feels as though it has been forever since I have tied flies. worms are great because there is little mess involved and there is no need to create a giant station. simple streamline and deadly. mucho gracias senor pedro.

"lander wyoming fly fishing"

Saturday, January 16th, 2010

already looking forward to the spring and summer, this is a nice fish from wyoming that i caught last may. nothing beats shorts and big fish. i managed to cut myself badly on a sharp stick while chasing this fish down. she taped out at 26″ and was hot. nothing like fishing below dams at the peak of runoff.

I hadn’t been in the shop since late summer after fish committed to plastic. I went in to BS and buy some tying supplies for worms. I walked in expecting to spend 10 and walked out spending 30$. oh well jim always sells me on some fly i need to tie up more of. he’s truly knows his stuff. as for me Ill be spending the weekend tying and refilling the boxes for the spring..307 outfitters loves plastic

worn boots and dissolving laces

Thursday, January 14th, 2010

i have been overdue for a new pair of wading boots for some time. i destroy boots, last spring i decided to pick up a pair of studded felt simms before they discontinued them. driftboats hated me, but they kept me where i wanted to be in the river. big decisions, whatever i get they will have studs in them…

huevos for the fishes…. yea they work.

joys of winter

Friday, January 8th, 2010

back in montana, had a hell of a day traveling back from ct, got to spend 5 extra hours in denver airport. its cold here in montana, got out today regardless and fished the pin. enjoyed the cold weather and the brief sun spurts. the off season is here and now is the time for tying and packing my house up. its amazing what one accumulates over the years. big trash day run tomorrow.
